A comeback was needed but the Marysville Bulldog boys basketball team did just that and back at State for the first time since 2003 the Bulldogs won the State title just like that year and for the third time in school history. Bulldogs took down the upset minded Cheney 45-37 to win the Class 3A State title.

After the initial bucket of the game on a Gabe Pieschl three-pointer Marysville found themselves down as Cheney led 13-9 after the first quarter and headed into halftime Cheney led 25-19 over the Bulldogs. The lead grew to 10-points for Cheney in the third quarter but Marysville finished the quarter on an 8-1 run and trailed by just three entering the fourth quarter. Marysville took their first lead since 3-0 to start the game at 32-31 and the Bulldogs utilizing free throws and Cheney turnovers finished off the game to win 45-37.

Marysville finished the game with a 17-6 fourth quarter and capitalized on 20 Cheney turnovers while also going 18-26 from the free throw line. Pieschl led Marysville with 22 points going 9-11 from the free throw line and 6-12 from the floor.

The win finishes the year for Marysville at 22-4 and they claim the 3A State title giving them their third boys basketball State title in school history.
