Twin Valley League All-League Basketball Honors Awarded

The Twin Valley League yet again was filled with competition on the basketball court this year full of strong teams. Six teams made the State tournaments with two winning State titles and another finishing third, giving the TVL at least one State champion for the last six years (eight or last nine years) and the 16th State title in last 21 years in the League. While for for the 18th year in the last 21 years at least one TVL team vied for a State title. 

In the girls competition Centralia girls went through the League with an unbeaten record finishing 12-0 to win the TVL and took third place in 1A-DI at State. While Hanover girls finished second in the League with a 11-1 League mark and won their first ever State title claiming the 1A-DI title. Washington County, Frankfort and Clifton-Clyde finished out the Top five in the League standings taking third, fourth and fifth, respectively. The rest of the League standings finished with Linn at sixth, Valley Heights seventh, Wetmore eighth, Axtell ninth, Troy, Blue Valley and Doniphan West tied for tenth and Onaga finished 12th. The Wetmore girls qualified for the State tournament for third straight year. 

On the boys side of competition the Troy boys went through League play unbeaten posting a 12-0 mark to win the TVL. While Hanover boys took second place with a 11-1 record in TVL play and also won the 1A-DI State title, their sixth in school history. Onaga boys earned third place in the League and also went to State for the first time in 27 years, while Doniphan West and Valley Heights finished fourth and fifth, respectively. The rest of the League standings finished with Washington County at sixth, the trio of Frankfort, Linn and Clifton-Clyde tied for seventh in the League, Centralia finished tenth and Axtell, Blue Valley, Wetmore all tied for 11th. The Axtell boys qualified for the State tournament. 

The high level of competition continues in the TVL and sets up for another great year next season.
