Jeff West & Perry Lecompton Open Track Season at Baldwin Invite

A pair of Big Seven League track squads opened the track season in action at the Baldwin Invitational. Jeff West and Perry Lecompton competed against 11 other schools on Friday. 

The top team performance on the day between Perry Lecompton and Jeff West cam by the Kaw boys who took sixth place, while the Perry girls finished 11th. For Jeff West the girls took eighth as a team, while the boys finished 12th. 

Perry Lecompton boys were led by 10 Top seven performances on the day with a second place performance in the 4x400 meter relay being the top finish. Colton Mallonee earned third place in the triple jump and also finished seventh in the long jump, while Dalton Kellum earned a pair of fourth place finishes in the 200 and 400 meter dashes. Ike Dwyer added a fourth place to the Kaws days it coming in the high jump, while Shane Quinlan, Ty Packard and Torin Van Nest each notched a fifth place finish. Quinlan took fifth in the 100 meter dash, Packard in the 800 meter run and Van Nest in the 300 meter hurdles. Cole Kellum and Jordan Spreer each posted finishes of seventh place in the 400 meter dash and javelin, respectively. 

For the Perry Lecompton girls it was Abbi Folks with the top performance of the day finishing in second place in the triple jump. Harleigh Robertson earned fifth in the discus and sixth in the javelin, while Lexia Jamison raced to sixth in the 1600 meter run and Morgen Coyle placed seventh in the javelin. 

Jeff West girls had the only individual first place performance between the two Big Seven schools as Dejalynn Saili led the Tigers on the day with a toss of 34'07 to win the shot put. A second place finish was garnered by Jordan Hawman who raced her way to the silver in the 400 meter dash, while Brooke Dillenbeck earned third place in the triple jump. In the relay competitions the Tiger girls took fourth in the 4x400 and fifth in the 4x100 and 4x800 meter relays. Alyssa Garza tallied a pair of seventh place finishes in the shot put and discus, while Macy Tucker finished seventh in the 1600 meter run. 

On the boys side Jeff West was led by a pair of seventh place finishes by Trey Markham coming in the 110 and 300 meter hurdles. 

Both track squads are set to continue their seasons on Tuesday, April 4th in Big Seven League Quad action as Jeff West will compete at Royal Valley and Perry Lecompton will host action.
