Tuesday might have been a cold, damp and rainy day but the weather didn't stop the boy's golf action at Wamego as teams teed it up for action to open their seasons. A pair of area teams were in action as Sabetha and Marysville both got their seasons underway.

Sabetha Bluejays notched a second place finish as a four-man team with a 334 team score only nine strokes off of first place. Leading the way for the Bluejays on the links was Jesse Burger who carded an 81 and placed seventh individually, while his teammates Reese Lierz and Garrett Scott finished right behind him. Lierz carded a 82 and Scott a round of 83 to finish eighth and ninth on the day. An 88 finished out the team score for Sabetha and a pair of Bluejays each carded an 88 on the day as David Pierson and Brendan Rokey each notched that score. Noah Garber was also in action posting a round of 102.

Marysville Bulldogs were in action on the day and had all their golfers post rounds of over 100 with a 106 from Tyler Rader and Alex Arntt leading the way. Brant Kieffer posted a 120, while Roman Carillo carded a 124 and Jason Arntt and Frank Ackerman each posted a 127 and 128.

The season is set to continue for Sabetha on Monday, April 10th when they host a golf tournament, while Marysville will also hit the links on Monday as part of the Sabetha Invite.
