By virtue of her placing in the top group at the Heart of America Athletic Conference (HAAC) cross country conference meet, Peru State College (PSC) senior runner, Sarah Williams (Hiawatha, Kan.), competed in the NAIA Cross Country Championships on Saturday in Vancouver, Wash.

Williams finished 189th out of 320 runners by running 20:11 in the meet.  This was 35 seconds faster than the time Williams ran two years ago in Vancouver.

According to Bobcat cross country head coach, Johann Murray, Williams ran well in similar conditions to what it was two years ago – that being rainy, muddy, and cold.

The individual winner was Hillary Holt, a junior from the College of Idaho, who ran an impressive 17:00.

Williams finishes her career as one of PSC's most decorated cross country runners having competed in two national championships.  In addition, Williams earned the honor of Daktronics-NAIA Scholar-Athlete for her academic achievements.
