Four TVL Boys Golf Teams Hit the Links at Republic County Invite

Four Twin Valley League schools hit the links on Monday competing at the Republic County Invite as Linn, Valley Heights, Washington County and Hanover all had golfers in action. 

Both Linn and Valley Heights field full four-man teams with seven other teams and one junior varsity team also. Linn posted a team finish of fifth with a score of 388, while Valley Heights place seventh as a team with a 416 team score. 

Linn led the way with the best performances from area competitors led by an eighth place finish out of 60 golfers as Chase McGatlin carded a round of 87 to place eighth. His teammate, Laban Sweetser carded an 88 to tie for ninth place, while Andrew Meyer tied for 12th with an 89 on the day. Kalen Richardson finished out the Bulldogs team score on the day posting a 124 to finish 55th. 

Washington County was led on the day by a Top 20 finisher as Evan Ouellette finished with a score of 90 to place 16th. Pepe Cardenas and Trent Tuma also were in action for the Tigers posting rounds of 106 and 141 to finish 33rd and 59th. 

Valley Heights on the day was led by Bryan Yungeberg who tied for 23rd with a 96. Also in action for the Mustangs, Carter Popejoy, Brady Trimble, Tyler Wagner and Dylan Wagner who placed 31st, 38th, 41st and 45th with scores of 101, 108, 111 and 113, respectively. 

Also in action were a trio of Hanover golfers placing 41st, 49th and 58th as Nate Luppen, Dayton Shockley and Jared Gerleve posted rounds of 111, 117 and 140.
