Oskaloosa Track Invite Results (4-25-17) - Girls & Boys

Resheduled from earlier in the track season Oskaloosa hosted a track meet on Tuesday competing against three other area teams in Valley Falls, Pleasant Ridge and Doniphan West. 

The host Oskaloosa earned first place on the boy’s side of competition scoring 96 points to win by 16 points as Pleasant Ridge took second, while Valley Falls and Doniphan West placed third and fourth. On the girls side of competition Valley Falls with 91 points earn the top team spot, while Pleasant Ridge took second, while Oskaloosa and Doniphan West finished third and fourth. 

Oskaloosa boys on their way to the top team finish were once again led by the performance of John Tarwater who won three events on the day. Tarwater swept the boys hurdles posting times of 16.76 and 43.11 to win the 110 and 300 meter hurdles, while a leap of 6'02 won him the high jump crown, too. The Bears boys relay teams also enjoyed a solid day taking first in the 4x100 (50.36), 4x400 (3:53) and 4x800 (11:04), while Marik Koch won the 200 meter dash (24.61) and Gabe Robbins took first in the long jump (17'09.75). Lady Bears were led by Alexi Adams won sprinted to times of 13.12, 27.90 and 1:06 to win the 100, 200 and 400 meter dashes, while Maddi Taylor earned first in the discus (96'10). 

Seven first place finishes helped Valley Falls girls take first place as a team and Rachel Woodgate led the way winning the 800 (3:06) and 3200 (16:55) meter runs, while the lady Dragons 4x100 (55.74) and 4x800 (12:51) meter relay teams each took first. Catherine Montgomery won the 100 meter hurdles (21.04) and in the field events Hannah Drinkard and Sway Schmelzle won the javelin (68'05) and long jump (13'04.50), respectively. On the boys side of competition Justin Myers and Jachin Drinkard each captured a first place finish winning the 800 (2:13) meter run and javelin (138'09), respectively. 

Gylnn Smith, Clayton Price Devin Culbertson and were multi-gold winners on the day at the Oskaloosa Invite for Pleasant Ridge. Smith earned first in the boys 100 meter dash (11.71) and triple jump (39'09) and for Price his first place finishes came in the 1600 (5:13) and 3200 (10:52) meter runs. Culbertson tossed his way to his two first place finishes winning the discus (107'00) and shot put (42'02). TJ Young also recorded a first place finish for the Ram boys by winning the 400 meter dash with a time of 58.64. Lady Rams were led by Montanna Adams, Sara Nooner and Maura Mclendon who won the high jump (4'08), 1600 meter run (7:11) and shot put (28'03), respectively. 

Doniphan West Mustangs were led by the performance of Shayna Wilson who with a time of 54.00 won the girls 300 meter hurdles and also behind a leap of 30'07.50 took first in the triple jump.
