Jeff West Girls & Boys Track Take Second at Wamego Invite

Wamego Track Invite Results (4-27-17) - Team & Individual

Jeff West Tigers stepped outside of the area and competed at the Wamego track Invite on Thursday competing against Wamego, Santa Fe Trail and Salina South. 

The Tiger girls and boys each took second of the four teams in competition as team overall. 

Jeff West was led by Macy Tucker who won two events taking first in the 1600 meter run (5:52.15) and won the pole vault (8'00). The lady Tigers also had Heather Kahler win the 800 meter run (2:36.52) and Sarah Sayles race to first place in the 3200 meter run (13:29.70). Dejalynn Sailia and Alyssa Garza each added first place performances for the lady Tigers winning the shot put (35'00.25) and discus (104'00). Kahler added a second place finish in the triple jump, while Sayles added to her day with a second place finish in the 1600 meter run and Garza placed second in the shot put. Girl's 4x400 meter relay team earned second place, while Myranda Bahm earned the silver in the long jump. Bronze medal performances were garnered by Samantha Cozadd in the 200 meter dash and also the 4x100 meter relay.  

Tiger boys were led by a trio of first place finishes on the day at the Wamego Invite. Bryce Clements sprinted to the first place finish in the 400 meter dash (54.22), while Trey Markham earned first place in the 300 meter hurdles (44.48) and Jacob Hamon won the 3200 meter run (11:06.36). Clements added a third place finish in the high jump, while Markham also had a third place finish too his coming in the triple jump and Hamon on top of his first place added a third place finish in the 1600 meter run. Tigers 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams each placed second, while Kauli Saili and Kyler Kaniper placed second in the discus and high jump, respectively. A pair of third place finishes were earned by Hunter Williams in the discus and javelin. 

Jeff West continues the track season on Friday, April 28th at the Topeka-Seaman Relays.
