Nemaha Central Boys Golf Takes Second at Marysville Invite

After being in action in League play on Monday Nemaha Central boys golf team traveled to Marysville to compete against North Central Kansas League teams at the Marysville Invite. 

The Thunder posted a four-man team score of 352 to take second place overall with Wamego grabbing first place with a team scored 324. Seven total teams were in action and the host Marysville finished sixth (414). 

A pair of Top 10 finishes out of 40 golfers led Nemaha Central as Dylan Enneking and Billy Mitchell carded rounds of 80 and 83, respectively to finish fifth and sixth. Dalton Schmelzle and Corey Nolte finished out the Thunder four-man team score posting rounds of 94 and 95 to tie for 14th and place 16th. Corey Heiman tied for 18th after shooting a 97 and Eric Hammes was also in action for Nemaha Central posting a score of 104. 

Marysville was led by Tyler Rader who tied for 18th with a 97 at the Bulldogs home tournament. Alex Arntt, Brant Kieffer, Frank Ackerman, Jason Arntt and Roman Carrillo were also in action for Marysville posting rounds of 101, 103, 113, 114 and 115. 

Both teams now turn their attention to their respective League tournaments next week. Nemaha Central will compete at the Big Seven League meet at Sabetha on Wednesday, May 10th and Marysville will be at the NCKL tournament on Monday, May 8th.
