With just a few weeks left in the regular season of action in the 2012 College football season for Big 12 teams the conference as released the 2013 college football schedule with league and non-conference games for all 10 teams in the league.

Plenty of games highlight things for the league from the league games to some big non-conference matchups, also.

For the two area teams in Kansas State and Kansas they will close out their season against each other in the Sunflower Showdown on November 30th of next season with the game in Lawrence.

The Wildcats will have home Big 12 games against Baylor, West Virginia, Iowa State, TCU and Oklahoma, but will have to open Big 12 play on the road for the first two weeks of conference play. K-State's road conference games consist of Kansas, Texas Tech, Oklahoma State and the Wildcats open Big 12 at Texas on September 21st.

Opening the season for the Wildcats their opponents will be North Dakota State on August 31st, while they also have non-conference games against Louisiana-Lafayette and UMass, all in Manhattan.

Kansas State's counterpart in the state the Kansas Jayhawks will have five home Big 12 games, too as they host the Wildcats, Oklahoma State, Baylor, Oklahoma and Texas Tech. Jayhawks open the conference season with the Red Raiders on October 5th. On the road for the Jayhawks in the Big 12 it will be Texas, Iowa State, TCU and West Virginia.

Jayhawks will open the season on September 7th at home against South Dakota with their other non-conference games coming against Rice and Louisiana Tech. The Rice game will be on the road for the Jayhawks in week two.

Some other highlights in the Big 12 schedules include many big non-conference games. Oklahoma Sooners will play at Notre Dame on September 28th, looking to repay the Fighting Irish for their loss in Norman this year. TCU and Oklahoma State have matchups against SEC opponents as the Horned Frogs will play LSU on August 31st to open the season and the Cowboys will play Mississippi State the same day.

Other big matchups non-conference wise in the Big 12 include Iowa State at Iowa on Sept 14th and West Virginia vs. Maryland on Sept. 21st.
