Perry Lecompton & Pleasant Ridge Track Compete at Red Bud Classic

Track season continue for Perry Lecompton and Pleasant Ridge on Friday at the Red Bud Classic at Wellsville. 

The Perry Lecompton girls earned a third place team performance out of 12 schools, while the Kaw boys’ team finished sixth out of 13 teams. Pleasant Ridge boys earned eighth place as a team, while the girls finished 12th. 

Perry Lecompton was led by the performance of Cali Coleman who earned second place in the 100 and 400 meter dashes and long jump. Lexia Jamison also earned a silver medal finishing second in the 800 meter run, while Haley Kellum took third place in the triple jump. The girl’s 4x800 meter relay took third and the 4x400 meter relay team earned fifth, while Talisa Stone and Harleigh Robertson placed fourth in the high jump and discus and Jolie Hirsch finished fifth in the 400 meter dash. 

The Kaw boys were led by a pair of second place performances as Torin Van Nest took second in the 110 meter hurdles and the 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams also placed second. Dalton Kellum finished fourth in the 100 meter dash. 

Pleasant Ridge Rams had three Top five finishes at the Red Bud Classic led by a second place finish from Luke Oatney in the boys 1600 meter run. Clayton Price and Glynn Smith earned a third place finish in the 3200 meter run and fourth in the triple jump, respectively. 

Both Perry Lecompton and Pleasant Ridge are back in action next week with League meets on the horizon.
