Vermillion Boys Golf Earn First Place at Twin Valley League Tournament

Cedar Hills golf course played host to the Twin Valley League boy’s golf tournament on a beautiful Monday and at the end of the days competition Vermillion earned the League title for the fourth consecutive year. 

Behind a four-man team score of 353 Vermillion earned first place as a team winning by 38 strokes. Valley Heights earned second with a team score of 391 just edging out Linn who took third with a 392. Onaga, Hanover and Washington County posted team scores of 419, 481 and 482 to finish fourth through sixth. 

Leading the charge for Vermillion was a round of 80 which Austin Hardwick carded to earn first place individually winning by two strokes. Four other Vermillion golfers finished in the Top 10 on the day of 38 total golfers in action. Jason Gore tied for third shooting an 87, while Brandon Bussman posted a score of 90 to take fifth place. Kenton Talley and Josh Tynon tied for eighth and tenth, respectively after shooting rounds of 94 and 96 on the day. 

Washington County Tiger, Evan Ouellette shot an 82 to earn second place on the day finishing only two strokes out of first and five strokes ahead of third. 

Linn had a trio of Top 10 finishers on the day led by Andrew Meyer who tied for third shooting an 87. Chase McGatlin and Laban Sweetser tied for sixth and tenth, respectively with rounds of 91 and 96. 

Ben Kufahl led Onaga as he tied for eighth after shooting a 94 at the TVL Tournament. 

All the TVL golfers now turn their attention to Regionals coming up on Monday, May 15th.
