Several area athletes have gone on to college and achieved success in sports and former Jeff West Tiger, Olivia Brees is doing just that and in two sports at Baker University.

After a strong sophomore campaign on the volleyball court leading the team in total blocks with 132 and second on the team in kills with 203, Brees turned her attention to the softball field and exceled there also.

The lady Wildcats of Baker posted their most wins since 2011 finishing 27-26 on the season and Brees was a key piece to the team leading the charge inside the circle at pitcher. As sophomore Brees recorded 300 strikeouts breaking the single season school record and held opponents to just a .177 batting average (130 hits in 734 batters). She logged 201.1 innings which ranks 12th in the NAIA and her 1.43 ERA is second in the Heart of America Athletic Conference as she was 20-10 with 27 starts and 24 complete games on the year.

The stellar performance on the diamond for Brees in her sophomore year earned her first team All-HAAC honors, while she also picked up HAAC Gold Glove honors at pitcher.
