For the first time in school history the Oskaloosa Bears baseball team headed to the State tournament and in the opening round dear a matchup against Silver Lake in the four versus five seed matchup in the 3A tournament in Manhattan.

Oskaloosa as the lower seed went to the plate first but it was Silver Lake breaking through first on the scoreboard plating a run in the bottom of the first. It didn't take long for the Bears to answer with a run in the top of the second. The game remained knotted at 1-1 until the bottom of the fourth when the Eagles broke through to score two runs and lead 3-1. In the top of the sixth the Bears tied the game again scoring two runs to tie it at 3-3, but the Eagles answered with a two-run bottom of the sixth and then shut the door in the seventh sending the Bears to a 5-3 loss ending Oskaloosa's season.

In the loss Oskaloosa was led on the mound by Hunter Reed who tossed six innings giving up five runs on five hits, while Heath Knopp led the Bears offense with two of the team's six hits.

Oskaloosa wrapped up their season with a 15-7 record and their first ever trip to State baseball tournament.
