A pair of Northeast Kansas League doubleheaders early in the legion baseball season were postponed due to weather and one of those twinbills was made up on Thursday night as Oskaloosa took on Leavenworth. 

Oskaloosa snagged a pair of wins taking game one 19-3 and earning the sweep with a 7-4 win. 

An 11-run seventh inning secure the win for Oskaloosa in game one as they led 8-3 entering the seventh. Leavenworth struck first with a pair of runs in the bottom of the first inning but Oskaloosa answered with a run in the top of the second and then took the lead with a four-run third which included RBI singles from Diego Cervantez and Dawson Gatzemeyer. Three more runs came for Oskaloosa in the fifth while Leavenworth tallied one in the bottom of the inning making it 8-3 after five. The top of the seven Oskaloosa partnered a few walks and an error with several singles to produce 11-runs and win handily 19-3 in game one as they out-hit Leavenworth 13-6 in the contest. 

Jared Miller earned the win for Oskaloosa going four and two-thirds giving up three runs on six hits with four strikeouts, while Cervantez led the offense with four hits and three RBI's and Gatzemeyer chipped in a three hit game with three RBI's. 

In the loss Leavenworth had both Schwinn and Jacob Emerson each toss three innings. 

Game two saw Oskaloosa take the lead early with a five run top second and Leavenworth got one run back in the bottom of the inning making it 5-1. In the third and fourth innings Oskaloosa added a single run each frame and led 7-1 entering the bottom of the fifth of a five inning contest. Leavenworth didn't go away quietly as they battled to get three runs in the fifth but their comeback attempt fell short and Oskaloosa earned the 7-4 win. 

Teams combined for eight errors in the contest and just seven hits. Hunter Reed in two and two-thirds innings of action earned the win on the mound for Oskaloosa giving up one run on three hits with three strikeouts. While Reid Herken took the loss for Leavenworth going three and one-third innings giving up seven runs on three hits with three strikeouts. 

The wins moved Oskaloosa to 8-5 overall on the season, while Leavenworth fell to 1-12 on the year. 

Legion baseball season continues in the NEKL on Sunday with three League doubleheaders as Corning will be at Oskaloosa, Silver Lake travels to Doniphan County and Seneca hosts Leavenworth.
