The Jefferson County North Chargers opened the 2017 football season with a convincing win over NEKL opponent Maur Hill-Mount Academy 50-7 Friday night.

JCN scored less than 2 minutes into the game as the Charger ground attack imposed its will.  Jeff North was led by Sam Larson with 12 carries for 182 yards followed closely by Ridge Robertson who picked 142 on 9 carries.  QB Boston Lane was 2-3 passing for 65.  The Ravens Jack Caudle threw for 128 yards on 9 of 21 passes.

Next up for the Chargers will be another road trip, this one to Maranatha Academy, while MH-MA looks for its first win of the season at McLouth.
