Sabetha, Marysville, Hiawatha Girls Tennis Compete at Perry Lecompton Invite

Perry Lecompton Girls Tennis Invite results - Singles & Doubles

Four area girls tennis were in action at the Perry Lecompton on Tuesday, September 19th and put forth strong performances. 

Marysville Bulldogs led the area performances with four Top five finishes on the day. The duo of Avery Williams and Holly Holthaus put together a 3-1 record to take second in the doubles competition, while the tandem of Sarah Roberts and Haley Bruna also had a 3-1 day for the Bulldogs and took fifth in doubles action. In singles competition Shelby Downard posted a 3-1 record to earn third place, while Sierra Becker placed fifth after going 3-1. 

Sabetha Bluejays had plenty of competitors in action at the Perry Lecompton Invite and a pair of sixth place finishes led the Bluejays. Kirsten Wenger took sixth in singles action going 2-2 on the day, while a 2-2 mark earned Brooklyn Bauman and Nicole Stallbaumer sixth place in doubles. Also in action for the lady Bluejays in singles play were Savanna Osthoff, Addie Hunning and Bree Voos who placed 10th, 12th and 15th after notching records of 2-2, 1-3 and 1-3 respectively. Three other doubles teams were also in action for Sabetha as Kinsey Menold and Hannah Wertenberger earned eighth place with a 1-3 showing, while Jessica Payne and Ashten Halls and Hannah Whittaker and Deborah Edelman each 2-2 to place 10th and 11th, respectively. 

Perry Lecompton Kaws were led by Graci Folks and Sammy Worthington who teamed up for a 3-1 day placing third in doubles action, while the tandem of Black and Tinsley finished 1-3 and took 12th. In singles action Ella Barrett with a 2-2 day placed fourth on the day for the Kaws, while Harigold Reumund placed 11th with a 2-2 mark. 

Hiawatha Red Hawks were also in action on the day as Maddy Grubber and Bethany Meyers competed in singles action placing 14th and 16th with 1-3 and 0-4 records. In doubles competition the teams of Trinidee Gifford and Laurel Madere along with Alyssa Tangen and Kaley Lay went 0-4 and 1-3 to place 16th and 15th on the day.
