Clifton-Clyde Takes Third at Rock Hills Volleyball Invite

Clifton-Clyde Eagles volleyball put together a strong showing out of League play on Saturday as they competed at the Rock Hills Invite earning third place. 

The Eagles opened pool play on the day with a straight set win over Lincoln 25-16, 25-19 to start the day's action. Up next in pool play was Thunder Ridge and the Eagles fell in a tough three set battle 16-25, 28-26, 7-25 but bounced back in the final pool play contest of the day against Osborne. With a tough 25-22, 25-19 straight set win over Osborne to finish pool play 2-1 and advance to the Semifinals. 

In the Semifinals the Eagles drew the matchup of St. John's/Tipton and the contest went to three sets but the Eagles fell 25-21, 22-25, 19-25. 

Looking to cap the day with a win the Eagles did just that winning the third place match in their third three sets game of the day beating Logan coming back after losing set one and winning final two sets in extra points 18-25, 26-24, 31-29. 

The 3-2 day at Rock Hills Invite earned Clifton-Clyde third place on the day and helped the Eagles move to 12-12 on the season. The season continues for Clifton-Clyde at the Centralia Triangular on Tuesday, October 3rd.
