Four Big Seven League volleyball teams hit the court on Saturday to continue their season as part of the Silver Lake Invite and ran into some tough competition on the day. Jeff West had the best team place finish with a fourth place finish, while Perry Lecompton, Royal Valley and Sabetha finished sixth, seventh and eighth, respectively. 

The day opened with pool play and in Pool A Jeff West finished second in the pool going 2-1 beating Perry Lecompton in three sets and Chapman in straight sets but falling to Silver Lake in straight sets. Silver Lake won the pool going 3-0 with straight set wins each time. Perry Lecompton finished third in the pool beating Chapman in straight sets to go 1-2 in pool play. 

Pool B belonged to the non-area teams as St. Mary's won the pool going 3-0, while Rossville took second in the pool. Royal Valley finished 1-2 in the pool play beating Sabetha in straight sets for their win while falling in straight sets to both St. Mary's and Rossville. Sabetha posted an 0-3 record in pool play with straight set losses each time. 

In bracket play Jeff West was the only team to advance to the Championship bracket and took on St. Mary's in the Semifinals falling in straight sets. The Tigers than went for third place and but fell to Rossville in straight sets to finish fourth place. 

Consolation bracket saw Perry Lecompton top Sabetha and Chapman beat Royal Valley in the Consolation Semifinals in straight sets and three sets, respectively. In the fifth place match Chapman beat Perry Lecompton in straight sets, while Royal Valley topped Sabetha in straight sets for seventh place.

Consolation semifinals — Perry-Lecompton def. Sabetha, 25-12, 25-20; Chapman def. Royal Valley, 25-18, 19-25, 25-13. Fifth place — Chapman def. Perry-Lecompton, 25-10, 25-23. Seventh place — Royal Valley def. Sabetha, 25-5, 25-15.
