TVL Runners Record Strong Performances at Riley County Cross Country Invite

Six Twin Valley League cross country teams continued their season on Saturday competing at the Riley County Invitational at the Leonardville golf course. 

TVL runners competed against some tough competition and leading the way for the TVL was Axtell Eagle, Olivia Kuckelman who won another meet registering a time of 21:16 to win by just a little over six seconds. Jordyn Smith had a solid performance just missing out of the Top 20 finishing 21st in the girls race. In the boys competition Axtell was led by Quinn Buessing who raced to a 12th place performance. 

The strong year of Brodric Shirley continued on Saturday at the Riley County Invite as the Frankfort Wildcat raced to a time of 17:03.60 to take second place in the boy’s competition. Brandon Anderson and Colton Partemer each finished in the Top 30 placing 26th and 27th. Leading the Wildcats in the girl’s race was Victoria Keller who placed 35th. 

Alex Hardin paced the Valley Heights Mustangs as he raced to a time of 18:01 to place tenth in action, while in the girl’s race Valley Heights was led by Abby Lister who placed 24th. 

Washington County Tigers were led by a 14th place finish in the boy’s competition by Tyler Simmons. 

For Centralia the best girls and boys performance came from Emily Weyer and Devon Feldkamp who finished 49th and 32nd, respectively. 

The best performance for Clifton-Clyde came from Alyssa Brown who placed 45th in the girl’s race.
