Six Area Cross Country Teams Ranked in Latest State Cross Country Rankings

With Regionals just under two weeks away only a few meets remain in the high school cross country season. The Coaches have released their State cross country rankings the third edition of the season. 

Six area teams find themselves in the rankings with five or the six in the Class 1A rankings. The Frankfort Wildcat boys lead the way of the five teams as they check in at #3 in the Top seven of Class 1A moving down one spot in the polls, while both Axtell and Centralia are tied for #7 in the rankings with one other school as the Eagles and Panthers jump into the polls. In the girls rankings Centralia moves up two spots to #4, while the Axtell girls break into the rankings at #5. The Frankfort and Onaga girls both received votes, while Washington County boys also picked up a vote. 

The only other area school in the Top seven of their Class is the Hiawatha Red Hawk girls who move up one spot to #3 in Class 3A, while the Red Hawk boys are receiving votes. A few other area 3A teams are receiving votes in the latest polls also as Perry Lecompton boys and girls received votes along with the Sabetha girls and Pleasant Ridge boys. 

In Class 2A both Jackson Heights and Valley Heights boys are receiving votes in the polls.
