Six Area Volleyball Teams Ranked in Latest KVA Week 7 Rankings

The high school volleyball regular season is in the books and the Sub-State brackets have been set and teams are ready for postseason action with Sub-State coming up Saturday, October 21st. The Kansas Volleyball Association has released their week seven rankings and six area teams are ranked this week again. 

Five of those six area teams are all ranked in Class 1A-Division I and four of the five are from the Twin Valley League, while the other is from the Northeast Kansas League. The Centralia Panther girls wrapped up the regular season by winning the Twin Valley League Tournament and continue to be ranked #1 and sit at 35-1 on the year. The Northeast Kansas League champion Valley Falls Dragons are up one spot to #3 this week in the polls and are now 29-6 on the season after beating Maur Hill-Mount Academy and Oskaloosa on Tuesday. The Hanover Wildcats continue to hold down the #6 spot in the rankings and sit at 26-10 on the season after a 2-1 performance at the TVL Tournament to wrap up the regular season. Both Washington County and Frankfort continue to be ranked #9 and #10, respectively this week. The Tigers finished second at the TVL Tournament and are 22-12 on the season, while Frankfort took fourth at the TVL Tournament and are 22-13 on the season. 

The Nemaha Central Thunder wrapped up the regular season on Tuesday with two wins over Perry Lecompton to win the Big Seven League title for the third straight year and sit at 37-3 on the year. Nemaha Central enters the postseason ranked #5 in Class 3A. 

Postseason for high school volleyball is set to commence on Saturday, October 21st with Sub-State action and nine sub-state from Class 4A-DI to 1A-DII will feature area teams.
