After making the State tournament for the first time in 37 years last year and finishing the season State runner-up in Class 1A-Division I the Hanover lady Wildcats are headed back to Hays to compete at the State tourney after capturing a Sub-State title.

Competing at the Sub-State hosted by Clifton-Clyde the Wildcats had the one seed and thus a first round bye advancing them into the Semifinals. In the Semifinals the Wildcats made light work of Pike Valley playing a relatively tight first set taking it 25-18 and absolutely dominating set two 25-1 to take the match.

In the Championship match a familiar foe stood in the way of Hanover as Washington County was the Wildcats opponent in the Sub-State title match. The Wildcats had played the Tigers four times throughout the course of the season and lost three of the four matches but this time the action belonged to Hanover. In straight sets the Sub-State title was captured by Hanover as they won 25-11, 25-13 to punch their ticket to State for the second straight year.

The Wildcats enter the 1A-Division II State tournament 29-10 and will be the five seed in the tournament in Hays at Gross Memorial Coliseum at Fort Hays State University. Hanover will begin pool play on Friday, October 27th at 8:30am against Pretty Prairie, then play Centralia at 11:30am and wrap up pool play against Lebo at 12:30pm.
