Just like a year ago the regular season finale for Valley Falls and Onaga had no ramifications attached to it outside of the fact each team was looking to head into the postseason on a positive note. But unlike last year it wasn't a shootout and State records didn't fall as Onaga won last year 114-68 setting a State 8-Man record for combined points in a game with Valley Falls but this year Onaga was the only one doing the scoring claiming a 60-6 halftime win.

The first five possession of the game for each team tells you the story of the contest as the Valley Falls Dragons who had turnovers issues of the course of the season saw that issue come up again coughing up the ball five times on fumbles on their first five possessions of the game. The Buffaloes thus had short fields in Dragon territory every single time and scored off all five fumbles. Onaga started the scoring with a 15-yard touchdown pass by Tanner Marten on a halfback pass to Quinton Norris and with two-point conversion made it 8-0 with 8:03 left in first quarter. All four other scores off the fumbles also came in the first quarter leading to a 40-0 Onaga lead entering the second stanza. The Buffaloes had Marten post touchdown runs of 26, five and two yards while KC Koelzer ran for a three-yard touchdown.

In the second quarter Norris broke free for a 45-yard touchdown run making it 46-0 with 6:50 left in the first half. The Dragons finally broke through on the next drive just a little over a minute after the Buffalo score Valley Falls saw Carter Allen bust a 43-yard touchdown run to make it 46-6. The Buffaloes however would cap the scoring as Marten notched 46-yard and six-yard touchdown runs and Onaga won the contest 60-6 at halftime.

The Buffaloes outgained Valley Falls 228 to 85 yards well short of the 1,400+ yards of combined offense from last year’s State record game, while the Dragons lost five fumbles and fumble several other times. Leading Onaga was Marten who on 18 carries ran for 140 yards with five touchdowns and was 1-1 for a 15-yard touchdown earning him Community National Bank "Player to Bank On" honors on KMZA.

In the loss Allen ran for 74 yards on seven carries with a touchdown for Valley Falls.

Valley Falls wraps up their second 8-Man football season with a 0-9 record, while Onaga in their second 8-Man season finish the year 1-8.
