The Kansas City-Atchison All-League football honors were handed out earlier this week and there was no shortage of Atchison Redmen on the first team.

Six players picked up seven spots on the KCAL first team. On the offensive side were runningback Sercy Duncan, receiver Tahj Helms, lineman Leighton Cushinberry and lineman Colby Burge. Cushinberry also earned a first team spot on the line on the defensive side, while Giovanni Burk joined him at linebacker and Cole Batemon at defensive back.

The Redmen finished the 2017 league schedule 4-1, while ending the year with an overall record of 4-5.
