Hayden 47, Holton 30

Playing without team leader Shay Tanking, the Holton girls fell to Hayden in the semifinals of the Bobcat Classic on Friday night in Basehor.  Holton jumped to a 7-2 lead before Hayden scored 14 straight points to take a 16-7 lead and never look back.  Holton used an 11-3 start to the third quarter to close the gap to five and again early in the fourth frame at 34-29.  However, Hayden scored 13 of the last 14 points in the game to widen the margin for the final score.

Sophia Purcell scored 19 points and was 8-9 at the foul-line as Hayden hit 14 of 17 free throws in the win.  Brooklyn Hunter scored all eight of her points in the second half.  Saydee Tanking, filling in for older sister Shay (who averages 18 points, 5 rebounds, 3 steals and assists per game) scored 12 of her 13 points in the first half, but Holton had 19 turnovers in falling to 10-2 on the season.  Holton will play host Basehor Linwood in the semifinals at 2:00 PM on Saturday.
