The first quarter was the difference as Doniphan West avoided the Hanover hangover and came out sharp and aggressive after their TVL Tournament championship win on Saturday in a battle of state-ranked undefeated teams.  With Troy playing a triangle and two defense against Devin Taylor and Levi Watts, Luke Blevins stepped up with 11 points in that first quarter blitz and scored 14 for the game while Newt Smith added 17 points and Clayton Ridout chipped in 11.  The Mustangs hit eight three-pointers while improving to 12-0 on the season.  Troy (0-10) played D-West within seven total points after the first quarter, but had 17 turnovers.  Tate Smith led the Trojans with 14 points while Kipp Jasper and Reid Jasper each scored six.
