It was a pair of two different ballgames on Friday night in Frankfort but the outcome was the same in both with the Wildcats earning the sweep of Axtell in Twin Valley League action. A strong start and three-pointers guided the Frankfort girls to the 54-32 win, while the Frankfort boys used the three-ball and clutch plays to earn the Overtime 54-51 win.

After a slow start for both teams Frankfort got some offense going with six different scorers in the first quarter and led 16-0 after one frame against Axtell. Axtell's shooting woes continued in the second quarter scoring just five points while Frankfort also only managed five points in the frame making it 21-5 at the half. Frankfort matched Axtell in the third quarter as Hanna Schmitz netted nine points in the frame for the Eagles but the Wildcats hit four three-pointers and it was 36-20 after three quarters. The lead grew to 20-points in the fourth and Frankfort put the final touches on the game to earn the 54-32 win.

Frankfort in the win hit 11 three-pointers as a team with Rebecca Adams setting the tone draining five herself and scoring a season high 18 points to earn Community National Bank "Player to Bank On" honors on 92.1 KMZA. Behind the three-point bucket Frankfort jumped out to a 12-6 lead in the first quarter and ultimately led 15-6 after one making five three's in the first stanza. The Wildcats lead grew to 22-9 in the second quarter against Axtell but the Eagles finished the first half on a 7-2 run and trailed by six at the half 24-18. The lead dwindled to one in the third quarter and Axtell took a brief lead at 29-28 with 2:15 left in the third only to see Frankfort lead 32-31 entering the fourth quarter. Tight down to the wire the Frankfort led was cut to one-points as Axtell's Mitch Buessing hit a three-pointer and with 14.5 seconds Nate Buessing went to the line for Axtell to tie the game and potentially give the Eagles the lead. Buessing made one of two free throws tying the game at 42-42 and Frankfort had an opportunity to win the game. The Wildcats got a shot off by Austin Hardwick in the paint but it missed and Garret Dalinghaus hoisted the putback and made it but the basket was waved off as the referee said it came after the buzzer and the game went to Overtime.

In Overtime the lead changed hands multiple times as it was tied at 47-47 with 1:23 left and then Axtell held a 49-48 lead only to see Frankfort regain the lead on a Brandon Anderson layup making it 50-49 with 25.6 seconds left in Overtime. The Eagles got fouled on their next offensive set and Nate Buessing made both free throws to give Axtell a 51-50 but Anderson had another answer for Frankfort going straight to the hoop for a layup to make it 52-51. Axtell then proceedingly turned the ball over but managed to force Frankfort into a turnover only to see the Eagles turn it over again.
