Holton Wrestlers Win Baldwin Invitational

Holton Wildcats continued to find success on the mats this season and the latest success came not only individually but as a team as the Wildcats earned the team title at the 17th annual Baldwin Invite.

Using 11 Top seven finishes which included seven Top three finishes helped Holton register 190 total points to win the Baldwin Invite by 29 points beating 15 other teams.

Going 3-0 earned Kolby Roush first place at 132lbs as he won by pinfall in the Quarterfinals in 5:37 and then won again by pinfall in 2:31 in the Semifinals. In the Championship bout Roush would once more win by pinfall this time in 1:45 to take first place. 

Taygen Fletcher (120lbs) and Kyler Tannahill (285lbs) both notched second place finishes for the Wildcats. Fletcher went 2-1 in action with a pinfall win in 3:19 and a 3-2 decision but suffered a tough 2-0 decision loss in the Championship bout. Tannahill recorded a 3-1 performance picking up wins by pinfall twice in 49 seconds and 3:35 and also a 1-0 decision but fell in a tough 3-0 decision bout in the Championship. 

Konnor Tannahill (182lbs), Dylan Aeschliman (170lbs), Lawson Henry (138lbs) and Jake Barnes (106lbs) all finished third place at the Baldwin Invite. All four guys went 4-1 in action all winning their final matches of the day. 

Austin Rollet (220lbs) wrestled his way to a fourth place finish behind a 3-2 record on the day, while Cael Jackson (152lbs) also went 3-2 on the day earning fifth place.

Both Conner Gilliland (132lbs) and Killian O'Connor (195lbs) each earned seventh place posting 3-1 and 2-2 records, respectively. Willie Bowman (145lbs) was also in action going 0-2.

Holton continues their season on Thursday, February 1st against Rock Creek in a dual on the road.
