Twelve Area Wrestlers Ranked In Latest KWCA Polls

With only a few weeks left of the regular season before Regionals area wrestlers look to continue to fine tune their skills and gear up for a strong finish to the regular season to prepare for the postseason. Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association has released its latest rankings and they feature 12 area wrestlers. 

The Sabetha Bluejays led the way for area teams with the most area wrestlers in the rankings as a trio of Bluejay grapplers continue to be ranked in Class 3-2-1A. Freshman, Kaden Dillon moved up one spot this week to #5 at 113lbs, while junior, Cauy Rokey moved down one spot to #6 at 195lbs. Junior, Elliot Strahm remained ranked #6 at 285lbs for Sabetha. 

Five other schools have one wrestler in the Class 3-2-1A rankings as all five remain in the polls again this week. Riverside Cyclone senior, Scott Resler continues to hold the #2 spot at 145lbs coming in as the highest area ranked wrestlers in Class 3-2-1A. 

Royal Valley Panther senior, Dalton Ware checks in at #3 at 120lbs again this week, while Doniphan West Mustang senior, Zeb Speer and Pleasant Ridge Ram junior, Trevor Ragland each rank at #5 in their weight classes of 160lbs and 106lbs, respectively. Oskaloosa Bear senior, Jared Miller once again holds the #6 spot at 182lbs in Class 3-2-1A. 

Class 4A continues to feature four area wrestlers hailing from two different schools in Marysville and Holton. Marysville Bulldog sophomore, Storm Slupianek moved up one spot this week to take over the #1 spot at 160lbs in 4A, while fellow Bulldog sophomore, Atreyau Hornbeak moved down one spot to #6 this week at 170lbs. 

Holton Wildcats have a pair of seniors in the rankings again this week as Kyler Tannahill moves up one spot to #3 at 285lbs, while Lawson Henry remained ranked at #5 at 138lbs.
