Marysville Wrestlers Take Second at Tournament in Phillipsburg

Marysville Bulldog wrestlers continued to put forth top notch performances on the wrestling mats earning a second place finish as a team at the Panther Classic in Phillipsburg in the latest action. 

Behind a 11 Top four finishes Marysville registered 146 points total points on the day to take second place finishing only 2.5 points out of first place which was earned by Abilene. 

Storm Slupianek led Marysville with an individual first place finish on the day posting a 3-0 day at 160lbs to take first. After a pinfall win in six seconds in his first match, Slupianek recorded a pair of tight decision victories winning 4-3 and 4-2 to take first place. 

Isaac Novotny (106lbs), Ethan Crownover (126lbs) and Gabe Capp (145lbs) all wrestled their way to second place finishes for the Bulldogs. For Novotny it was a 2-1 day on the mats with a win by pinfall (3:31) and decision (8-5), while Crownover went 3-1 in action picking up wins by pinfall (1:22), major decision (9-1) and decision (13-8). A 2-1 day by Capp earned him second as he recorded his two wins by technical fall each 16-1 and 17-2. 

Noah Ackerman (152lbs), Atreyau Hornbeak (170lbs) and Garron Champoux (182lbs) all each posted a 3-1 performance on the mats for Marysville to earn third place. While Kaleb Parker (220lbs) went 2-2 in action and also picked up a third place finish. 

The trio of Jakob Snellings (120lbs), Jonny Crome (132lbs) and Matt Lindhorst (195lbs) each earned a fourth place finish going 2-2, 1-2 and 2-2 respectively in action.
