Nemaha Central Standout Laura Macke Set to Play in Stateline Showdown All-Star Basketball Game

Top basketball athletes from Kansas and Missouri are set to compete against each other in the fifth annual Stateline Showdown All-Star games this weekend Saturday, March 31st at Rockhurst University. 

Nemaha Central senior and Kansas State University commit, Laura Macke is set to compete for Team Kansas in the girls contest at the Stateline Showdown. Macke has put together a spectacular high school career that finished with a trip to the 3A State tournament this year for Nemaha Central with team finishing 21-3 and Big Seven League champs. The Thunder senior earned first team Class 3A All-State from multiple publications, while also being selected to Capital Journal Top 15 third team All-Classes and Top 20 second team All-Classes by Sports in Kansas. She also was named first team All-Big Seven League. During her senior campaign she posted stat line of roughly 17 points, seven rebounds, 2.2 assists, 1.6 steals and 1.5 blocks per game and surpassed 1,000 points in her career. 

Macke also helped Nemaha Central to a fourth place finish in Class 3A at State as a junior and earned several postseason honors. She ranks as the number 53 wing in the nation by ESPNW HoopGurlz and is set to compete at the DI level next year at Kansas State, committing to the Wildcats over the likes of KU, UMKC and Creighton. 

Laura is set to join a Lady Wildcat program that finished 18-16 in 2017-18 season and 7-11 in the Big 12 and made the WNIT. 

Before she joins the Wildcats she will showcase her basketball skills on a big stage at the Stateline Showdown on Saturday, March 31st at Rockhurst University with the girls All-Star game set for 3:30pm. (Full details on Stateline Showdown - click here
