Falls City Hosts HTRS & Doniphan West In a Track Triangular

Falls City played host to Doniphan West and HTRS on Tuesday for track and field action. The host Falls City dominated the competition with Doniphan West and HTRS each having some strong performances, also. 

Falls City lead the way at their home meet against their two opponents as they won 13 of the boys events and nine of the girls events. Leading the way for the Tiger boys was Rudy Vrtiska who took first in the 100 meters, 110 meter hurdles, 300 meter hurdles and the long jump. Cade Schawang won a pair of events racing to the 200 and 400 meter titles, while the Tiger boys 4x100 and 4x400 meter relay teams took the gold. Also on the track Alex Rathje, Braden Kobza and Jared Hawley took first in the 800, 1600 and 3200 meter runs, respectively. In the field events both Emmet Kirkendall and Jace Heckenively each won an event for the Tigers with first place finishes in the high jump and triple jump. 

On the girls side of competition Hannah Clary paced the lady Tigers winning the high jump, triple jump and pole vault, while the relay teams swept the competition winning the 4x100, 4x400 and 4x800. Azlynia Lenard took first in the discus, Eryn Snethen won the 800 meter run and Ava Morgan took first in the 200 meter run. 

HTRS was led on the boy’s side with a first place finish in the 4x800 meter relay, while Isaiah Lockard placed first in the pole vault and Cody Hazen earned first in the shot put and discus. On the girls side of the competition Breanna Reyes, Cassy Peace, Matilyn Stalder and Carissa Carlin each took first in the 100 meter run, 1600 meter run, 3200 meter run and shot put, respectively. 

Doniphan West Mustangs had a trio of gals earn a first place finish at the Falls City Invite with Shayna Wilson leading the way took first both the 100 and 300 meter hurdles. Heidi Leach won the 400 meter dash and Alexis Wilson won the long jump. A second place finish in the discus by Norman Miller led the Mustang boys.
