Frankfort Girls & Centralia Boys Win Frankfort Track Invite

The track season got underway for a quartet of Twin Valley League schools by competing against each other as Frankfort played host to Centralia, Onaga and Wetmore. 

On the girls side of competition Frankfort girls earned first place as a team by one point over Centralia posting 101 points. While Onaga and Wetmore finished third and fourth. For the boys competition Centralia took first place by 45 points as Frankfort took second, Wetmore third and Onaga fourth. 

Centralia Panthers racked up the most event wins on the day with 20 at the Frankfort Invite. Morgan Kramer and Madison Lueger each won a pair of individual events on the day for the Centralia girls. Kramer sprinted her way to first in the 100 and 200 meter dash with times of 13.21 and 28.12, while Lueger tossed her way to gold in the shot put and javelin with throws of 34'06.50 and 139'05, respectively. On the track the lady Panthers also had Maegan Koch won the 400 meter dash (1:07.54), while the 4x100 (54.84) and 4x800 (12:01.57) meter relays each took first. In the field events Breanna Schmitz opened the season with a vault of 10'00 to take first in the pole vault, while Kennedy Becker won the long jump (14'06) and Jade Rumbo with a throw of 90'07.50 won the discus. 

The Centralia boys were also led by a pair of multi-event winners as Dylan Boeckman won the 300 meter hurdles (45.63) and the pole vault (13'00), while Daegan Steinlage took first in the shot put (42'05.50) and discus (140'09). On the track Isaac Gore sprinted to first in the 400 meter dash (59.48), while Kamble Haverkamp took first in the 800 meter run (2:19.57) and the 4x400 and 4x800 meter relay teams with times of 3:55.85 and 9:42.08 each took first. William Collinge and Josh Hasenkamp each won a field event claiming the gold in the high jump (5'00) and javelin (165'07), respectively. 

Leading the charge for the Frankfort girls on their way to first place as a team was Kennen Brandt and Grace Dressman who each won a pair of events. Brandt paced her way to wins in the 800 meter run (2:57.70) and the 1600 meter run (6:34.93), while Dressman swept the hurdles winning the 100 and 300 meter hurdles with times of 18.17 and 55.46. Also grabbing first place finishes for the lady Wildcats was the 4x400 meter relay team (4:44.94) and Gracie Schell who won the high jump (4'06). 

On the boys side of competition Garret Dalinghaus snagged a pair of first place finishes winning the 100 meter dash (12.32) and the 110 meter hurdles (16.70). Boy’s 4x100 meter relay also took first place posting a time of 49.72, while Colton Parthemer won the long jump (17'08.25). 

Six first place finishes were garnered by Wetmore Cardinals on the day. Both Curtis Bloom and Jonathan Hladky-Bailey each won two events for Wetmore. Bloom won the 200 meter dash (24.98) and the triple jump (39'08), while Hladky-Bailey took first in the 1600 and 3200 meter runs posting times of 5:09.10 and 11:15.99. On the girl’s side of competition Alena Pfrang won the 3200 meter run (14:35.73) and Alyssa Bloom placed first in the triple jump (30'01). 

Leading the way for Onaga on the day was a few second place finishes as Aaron Schwartz took second in the boys 300 meter hurdles, while Morgan Mayginnes and Belinda Ames took second in the 300 meter hurdles and 3200 meter run, respectively.
