Pleasant Ridge Competes at Basehor-Linwood Bobcat Track Relays

Pleasant Ridge Rams stepped out of the area for some early season track and field action and competed at the Basehor-Linwood Bobcat Relays on Thursday. 

While the boys and girls finished seventh and eighth as teams on the day the Rams put forth some strong performances in competition. 

Leading the Rams performances was Emma Schwinn who with a time of 17.46 picked up Pleasant Ridge's lone first place finish on the day winning the girls 100 meter hurdles. Schwinn also notched a fourth place finish in the 300 meter hurdles. 

A trio of other lady Rams tallied Top eight finishes in events as Maura McLendon finished fourth in the javelin, Layna Jackson took fifth in the long jump and Sara Nooner placed eight in the 800 meter run. 

A second place finish by Gylnn Smith highlighted the Rams performances in the boys competition at the Bobcat Relays as he took second in the triple jump, while also picking up an eighth place finish in the 100 meter dash. Colton Comer tossed his way to third place in the javelin, while Keaton Comer took third in the 400 meter dash and fourth in the high jump. 

Seven more Top eight finishes were earned by Pleasant Ridge boys placing either seventh or eighth in events. Noah Trader tied for seventh in the high jump, as Devin Culbertson took seventh in the shot put and Caulin Thompson placed seventh in the 300 meter hurdles. Thompson also added an eighth place finish in the 110 meter hurdles to his day, while Chase Wohgemuth took eighth in the 300 meter hurdles, TJ Young placed eighth in the 400 meter dash and Breydon Bargary posted the eighth best throw in the javelin. 

Pleasant Ridge continues their track season coming up next Tuesday, April 10th when they compete in the Tonganoxie Invite.
