JCN Boys & Girls Take Second at Silver Lake Invite Leading Area Performances

Four area schools were in action on Tuesday at the Silver Lake Invite continuing their track and field seasons. 

Leading the charge for the area performances as the Jefferson County North Chargers who saw both their girls and boys teams take second place out of eight and nine schools, respectively. On the girls side Jackson Heights placed fourth as a team, while Frankfort and Mclouth finished seventh and eighth. In the boys action Jackson Heights took fifth, Frankfort seventh and Mclouth ninth. 

JCN Chargers were led by multiple Top three finishes on the day including six first place finishes. The boys 4x400 (3:34.35) and 4x800 (8:44.29) meter relay teams each earned first place, while Knox Tweed posted a time of 17.15 winning the boys 110 meter hurdles, while Ridge Robertson won both the boys 200 meter dash (23.92) and pole vault (12'00). Trevor Pentlin earned first in the boys 3200 meter run (10:45.08), while the only first place in the girl’s competition for JCN was earned by Josie Weishaar in the high jump (4'10).

Tweed added a second place to his day in the 300 meter hurdles, while the boy’s 4x100 meter relay team took second, while Jacob Schrick placed third in the javelin and Jirou Gill finished second in the 200 meter dash and third in the 100 meter dash. The lady Chargers had second place finished earned by Sammi Hughes in the pole vault, Jentri Fowler in the 300 meter hurdles and Kaitlyn Schneider in the 800 meter run. Third place finishes were picked up by Karissa Schmalz in both the 100 meter dash and pole vault, Ravyn Jobbins in the high jump, Carlee Noll in the triple jump and also the girl’s 4x800 meter relay team took third. 

Jackson Heights Cobras were led by Faith Little as she won the 400 meter dash with a time of 1:01.97 and took first in the 3200 meter run with a time of 12:20.79. In the boys competition Curtis Niehuess won the shot put (43'06.50), while Jason Parker took first in the high jump (6'02) and Dalton Chartier won the 400 meter dash (53.04). The Cobras also earned second in the girls 4x400 and 4x800 meter relays, while Kylie Dohl placed second in the high jump and both Hanna Davault and Jodi White notched third place finishes in the high jump and 3200 meter run, respectively. Cobra boys had Cooper Williams finish second in the triple jump and third in the long jump, while Taylor Wamego placed third in the shot put. 

Leading the way for the Frankfort Wildcats was a first place finishes in the girls competition as the 4x100 meter relay (53.17) team earned first. Victoria Keller added a second place finish in the girls 1600 meter run, while Kaci Vaughn took second in the girls javelin. In the boys competition Carson Schreinner finished third in the 200 meter dash. 

Mclouth Bulldogs were led by a pair of second place finishes as Jenna Johnston took second in the girls 100m hurdles and Sarah Dailey as she earned second in the girls shot put.
