Jeff West, Atchison & Holton Qualify a Golfer for 4A State

Class 4A Boys Golf Regional (at McPherson) Results - Team & Individual

Golfers hit the links on Monday to compete in Regionals and looked to qualify for the State competition. Class 4A action for area teams was in Atchison at Bellevue Country Club and also at the Turkey Creek golf course hosted by McPherson. One area team and a few other area golfers qualified for State in Class 4A. 

A second place team performance at the McPherson Regional earns Marysville a trip to the Class 4A State golf competition as a team posting a team score of 354. Leading the way for Marysville was the performance of Jackson Rader who shot a 78 to place second, while Tyler Rader finished tenth with an 88. Both Alex Arntt and Brant Kieffer shot a 94 to tie for 14th place, while Tabitha Wright and Jason Arntt also were in action for Marysville finishing tied for 27th and 39th. 

At the Atchison Regional it was Jeff West Tiger, Preston Stanley leading the area performances as he carded the only round under 80 on the course on Monday shooting a 76 to win the Regional title and qualify for State as an individual. The Tiger team just missed out on a State bid by seven strokes. 

Atchison Redmen, Nathan Sowers shot an 83 to place eighth on his home course and earn a spot at the 4A State competition. 

Holton Wildcat, AJ Haussler carded a 85 to place ninth and qualify for State as an individual in Class 4A out of the Atchison Regional. 

Class 4A State tournament will take place Monday, May 21st in Emporia at the Municipal golf course.
