Valley Heights Mustangs boys golf team took to the course on Monday at the Hillsboro Regional in Class 2A action looking to earn a strip to the State tournament. 

While Valley Heights finished with a 398 team score to take fourth and finish outside of the qualifying teams a pair of Mustangs qualified individually. 

Posting a top five individual round from non-qualify teams earned trips to the 2A State tournament in Pittsburg for both Bryan Yungeberg and Brady Trimble. Yungeberg led Valley Heights taking ninth place after shooting an 83, while Trimble also qualified for State by placing 18th place with a round of 95. 

The Class 2A State tournament is set for Monday, May 15th in Pittsburg at Crestwood Country Club.
