Looking to go 5-0 the Sabetha Bluejays would walk into Hiawatha, Kansas to take on the (1-3) Redhawks. We saw a couple of different guys get a chance to run the football for the Bluejays due to Mason Engelken and Joel Hackney both being out. However Junior Quarterback Gabe Garber would take over in the first half for the Bluejays, and he had a fantastic night with the Bluejays winning 49-7.

The Redhawks would start with the opening kickoff, but on their first drive would have to punt after going three-and-out. Sabetha would use just three plays to get the first score of the game, which was a 34-yard touchdown run by Gabe Garber. Hiawatha would go three-and out once again, and Sabetha would use just four plays on their second drive before Garber would punch it in on a 17-yard run for the score, 14-0.

Hiawatha's third drive was much like the first and second, as they would have to punt after going three-and-out again. Sabetha used nine plays on their third drive of the game, before another 17-yard touchdown run, by Gabe Garber once more, 21-0. Right before halftime Sabetha would look to the passing game for the final first half score, and it would be a 22-yard touchdown pass from Garber to Braeden Cox for the score, 28-0.

The Bluejays would start with the ball in the second half and three plays would be all it took for Senior Joe Gruber to use a powerful run to take it 51 yards to the end zone for his only touchdown of the game, 35-0. Garber's big night wouldn't be over however as he would find Braeden Cox once again for a 21-yard touchdown pass which would put the score at 42-0.

With both Engelken and Hackney out, the Bluejays would look at senior running back Tristan Edelman to lead them down the field for a 2-yard touchdown run, 49-0. Hiawatha wasn't able to do a lot the entire game but were able to find the end zone on their eighth and final drive of the game. Senior running back Alan Simpson would lead the Redhawks to the end zone on a 14-yard touchdown run, 49-7.

The Hiawatha Redhawks finished the game with a total of 202 total yards in the game. Senior Alan Simpson ran the ball 13 times for 42 yards and the only Redhawk score. Julian Brown carried six times for 16 yards. Junior Qaurterback Tyler Brockoff carried 10 times and had 40 yards rushing, however he was 9 of 22 throwing the ball for 104 yards. Michael Moreno led Hiawatha with 3 receptions for 39 yards.

The Bluejays finished the game with 440 total yards. Tristan Edelman carried the ball 10 times for 108 yards and 1 touchdown. Joe Gruber had 4 totes for 79 yards and 1 touchdown. Junior Gabe Garber carried the ball 12 times for 130 rushing yards and 3 rushing touchdowns, and he went 6 of 9 throwing the ball for 115 yards and 2 touchdowns, both going to Braeden Cox through the air. Sabetha (5-0) Overall and (2-0) in District play will return home next week to battle the Holton Wildcats. Hiawatha (1-4) Overall and (0-2) in District play will be at Wamego.
