On a rainy, cold, foggy night in Sabetha, Kansas, the Sabetha Bluejays would look for their 7th win on the season. The Red Raiders of Wamego came into the game looking to hand the Bluejays their first loss on the year, however the Bluejays would come away with the 56-0 win at home. And let's not forget that it was Senior Night for the Bluejays, and the Senior class is one that will most certainly not be forgotten.

Wamego would start with the football on their own 35 yardline, but would turn it over on downs after just 3 plays. Sabetha would get the ball at Wamego's 27 yard line, and after 5 plays Senior Tristan Edelman would take it in from 1 yard out, 7-0. Wamego would sustain a long drive on their 2nd drive but would again turn it over downs a 2nd time. Sabetha would then use 11 plays before Senior Joe Gruber would power his way in from 2 yards out, 14-0.

Wamego would once again turn it over on downs on their 3rd possession of the game. That would allow Sabetha to use 9 plays before Gabe Garber would find Ryan Stapleton for the touchdown score on the 26 yard pass, 21-0. Wamego would then have an opportunity to try and score before halftime, however Ty Cooper would throw an interception, that Senior Braeden Cox would take 70 yards on the defensive touchdown, 27-0.

After halftime, Sabetha would use 13 plays, and Gabe Garber would cap off the drive with a 1 yard touchdown run, 33-0. Then Wamego's punt would be blocked, and Senior Joel Hackney would pick it up and take it back 41 yards for the Special Teams score, 40-0. On Wamego's 7th drive, Ty Cooper would once again throw an interception, which would lead to a Braeden Cox field goal, 43-0.

Senior Mason Spellmeier would get to see the endzone for the Bluejays on a 2 yard touchdown run, 50-0. On the last drive of the game backup Quarterback Drew Schemelzle would find the endzone from 1 yard out for the Bluejays which made the final score of 56-0.

Wamego's offense would finish the game with 164 total yards, but wouldn't be able to find the endzone. Brad Sackrider would get 8 carries for 27 yards,  and he would also have 3 receptions for 40 yards. Ty Cooper would carry it 16 times for 27 yards, he would also go 8 of 15 throwing for 65 yards and 2 interceptions. Taybor Vetter would also contribute with 25 yards receiving and 27 yards rushing.

The Bluejays offense would finish the game with 337 yards total. Senior Joe Gruber would carry it 18 times for 117 yards and 1 touchdown. Senior Tristan Edelman had 14 totes for 54 yards and 1 touchdown. Senior Mason Spellmeier had 4 totes for 29 yards and 1 touchdown. Sophmore Drew Schemelzle had 2 carries for 1 yard and a touchdown. Senior Braeden Cox would contribute with a Field Goal, and also a 70 yard interception for a touchdown. Senior Joel Hackney would have 1 touchdown on Special Teams with a 41 yard blocked punt return. Junior Gabe Garber would carry the football 12 times for 73 yards and 1 rushing touchdown, Garber would also throw the ball going 1 of 2 for 26 yards, which was all on the 26 yard pass to Senior Ryan Stapleton for the 26 yard touchdown pass.

Next week the Sabetha Bluejays (7-0) Overall and (4-0) in District play will be at Royal Valley for a League and District matchup with the Panthers. The Wamego Red Raiders fall to (4-3) Overall and (2-2) in District play and will play host to Holton, in a matchup for the 3rd and 4th spot in district play.
