Behind 355 rushing yards, the Centralia Panther football team advanced the sectional round of the 1A high school football playoffs with a 41-18 win over Troy Friday night in Centralia.

Troy hung tough early answering the Panthers score for score through the first half, but the Trojans simply had no answer for Centralia’s run game in the second half.

The two teams went back-and-forth in the first half, as the Panthers got on the board first with a Kamble Haverkamp 1-yard touchdown run before Troy’s Jacob Moore answered with a 2-yard score of his own.

Haverkamp came right back and scored again on the ground with another 1-yard run, while the Trojans answered again as Kipp Jasper found Reid Jasper from 22 yards out. Centralia then recorded the final score of the half, as Isaac Gore found pay dirt from three yards out to give the Panthers a 21-12 lead at halftime.

The Panthers put the game out of reach with two unanswered touchdowns in the third quarter, as Haverkamp recorded a 35-yard score, his third of the game, while Gore racked up his second touchdown of the night on 6-yard run after the Trojans muffed a punt.

Gore put the nail in the coffin in the fourth quarter scoring on a 13-yard run, while Troy got a late touchdown run from Reid Jasper.

Kamble Haverkamp led the Panthers on the ground with 150 rushing yards and three touchdowns, while Isaac Gore recorded three more scores on 75 yards rushing and Devon Feldkamp 89 yards on just nine rush attempts.

Troy’s Kipp Jasper played well throwing for 191 yards and a touchdown, but the Trojan offense couldn’t seem to find ways to finish off drives.

Troy ends their season with an overall record of 6-4, while Centralia moves to 8-2 and will host No. 2-ranked Olpe Friday in the sectional round of the 1A playoffs.
