The Lincoln Journal-Star and Omaha World-Herald released their all-state football teams Sunday.
Falls City senior Cord Huettner was named to the Journal-Star’s first-team offense as an athlete in Class C1.
In Class D-2, Falls City Sacred Heart had three first team selections, seniors Lane Barnhill on offense and Lane Scheitel on defense, and junior kicker Yianni Haralabidis.
Also on the Journal Star’s first-team Class D-2 offense is Sterling junior Chris Wenzl.
Honorable mention all-state in the Journal-Star goes to Falls City’s Wade Witt; Auburn’s Tyler Collin and Nathan Moran; and Matt Clark, Zach Heitkamp, and Dominic Richardson of Syracuse in Class C-1…Devon Marteney, Blake Kalin, Scott Borcher, and Austin Smith of Pawnee City in Class D-1…Clay Finck, Jarod Fiegener, Brandon Schawang, and Brody Chandler of Sacred Heart; and Ryan Zuhlke and Kody Benson of Sterling in Class D-2.
The Omaha World-Herald all-state team includes Falls City’s Cord Huettner on the first-team defense as a linebacker.
Lane Barnhill and Lane Scheitel were named first-team all state in Class D2, Barnhill on offense and Scheitel on defense.
