Area Track Teams Compete at Rossville Invitational

2019 Rossville Invitational - Results

It was a highly competitive day on the track Thursday afternoon at the Rossville Invitational featuring some of the top teams throughout Northeast Kansas.

The most first place finishes came from Hiawatha and Jeff County North who each finished with four gold medal winners.

The Redhawks had two girls win events as Kate Madsen won the 3200-meter run while Claire Geiger won the 100-meter hurdles. On the boy’s side Justin Hodge won two events, taking the 1600 and 3200-meter runs.

For the Chargers two girls relay teams won gold as the team of Kaitlyn Schneider, Gretchen Babcock, Karisa Schmalz and Kassidy Robertson won the 4 by 100-meter relay, while the team of Schneider, Robertson, Zetta Noll and Rose Wendling took the 4 by 800 relay. Adie Manville also won the girl’s high jump, while on the boy’s side the team of Landon Gutschenritter, Boyd Tweed, Mason Noll and Kyle Budy won the 4 by 400-meter relay.

Jackson Heights added two more gold medal winners, as Jodi White took the 800-meter run for the girls while Sydney Raborn also won the javelin.

The meet was rounded out by first place finished by Valley Falls and Horton with both coming on the boy’s side, as the Dragons had Nathan Hawk take first in the high jump while the Chargers had Gunner Madere win the long jump.
