Nemaha Central Track Teams Win Riverside Quad

Riverside Quad - Results

Area Big 7 League track & field teams were back in action Tuesday night at the Riverside Invitational and it was Nemaha Central who came away with team wins on each side.

The Thunder girls finished with 12 first place finishes, led by Hannah Macke who had three wins taking gold in the 800-meter run, the javelin and triple jump. Alleigh Kramer and Jacy Dalinghaus added two more golds each with Kramer winning the 100-meter dash and long jump, while Dalinghaus took the shot put and discus. Individual first place finishes were rounded out by Heather Suther winning the 200-meter dash, Kirsten Lortscher the 400-meter dash and Madison Lortscher the high jump. The Thunder also won two relay golds, claiming the 4 by 100 and 4 by 400-meter relay crowns.

Jeff West added four more wins, with Macy Tucker winning the pole vault, Sarah Sayles the 3200-meter run and Mellany Roenne the 1600-meter run. The Lady Tigers also won the distance relay race, claiming the 4 by 800-meter relay.

The final two first place finishes were rounded out by Perry Lecompton and Riverside, as the Kaws had Haylee Cheek win the 100-meter hurdles while the Cyclones got a gold from Lindsey Whitten who won the 300-meter hurdles.

On the boy’s side Nemaha Central had 10 first place finishes, led by Dalton Schmelzle who had three golds winnin the 200-meter dash, the high jump and long jump. Dylan Schultejans and Ty Hermesch added two more first place finishes, as Schultejans won the 110-meter hurdles and the triple jump while Hermesch won the 100 and 400-meter dashes. The final two individual golds came from Conner Inman who won the 3200-meter run while Logan Parker won the pole vault. The Thunder also won one relay event, taking the top spot in the 4 by 100-meter relay.

Jeff West added eight more first place finishes, led by Conner Inman who won the 1600 and 3200-meter runs while Kauli Saili won the discus and shot put. Pene Saili also won the javelin, while Bryce Clements took the 800-meter run. The Tigers won two of three relay events as well, taking the gold in the 4 by 400 and 4 by 800-meter relays.
