Centralia Track Teams Win Washington County Invitational

Washington County Invitational – Results

Area Twin Valley League teams competed at the Washington County Invitational Tuesday night and it was the Centralia girls’ and boys’ teams each claiming team titles.

The Panther girls ended with six first place finishers, led by Morgan Kramer who won the 100 and 200-meter dashes. Centralia also had Madison Lueger take first in the javelin, while Breanna Schmitz added a gold in the pole vault. The final two first place finishes came in relay events, as the Panthers won both the 4 by 100 and 400-meter relays.

Valley Heights added two more golds, with Emma Yungeberg winning the shot put while Maddy Vermetten won the 300-meter hurdles.

Axtell added the final area first place finish on the girl’s side, as the 4 by 800-meter relay team won gold.

On the boy’s side Centralia won the team title with just two gold medal winners, led by Daegan Steinlage who won both the shot put and discus.

Axtell rounded out the day with four wins, as Quinn Buessing took the 800 and 3200-meter runs, while Blake porting won the 1600-meter run and the 4 by 800-meter relay team also taking gold.
