13 Area Athletes, Two Teams Featured in Jan. 21 KWCA Rankings

Jan. 21 KWCA – Rankings

The high school wrestling season is in full swing and for the second time in 2020 the Kansas Wrestling Coaches Association has released the newest set of rankings with 13 area athletes and two teams ranked.

In Class 4A the Holton Wildcats continue to be ranked sixth as a team with three guys ranked individually. In the newest rankings the Cats have Jake Barnes ranked third at 113 pounds, Kolby Roush second at 138 and Konnor Tannahill third at 195.

In the 321A rankings the Riverside Cyclones are into the rankings as a team at No. 10 with two guys ranked in the top six of their respective weight class. This week the Cyclones have Beau Horn ranked second at 138 pounds while Luke Horn is also ranked second at 160.

Perry Lecompton is the only area team with multiple guys ranked as the Kaws have Grant Roush ranked fourth at 152 pounds while Hayden Robb is sixth at 220.

The final two spots in the boys rankings come from ACCHS and Sabetha as the Tigers have Colby Smith ranked fifth at 145 pounds while the Bluejays’ Walker Lowdermilk is third at 170.

In the girl’s rankings four area girls are ranked led by Onaga’s Morgan Mayginnes who is ranked first at 155 pounds while ACCHS’ Drucilla Longbrake is third at 235.

The final two ranked girls from the area come from Jeff West and Sabetha as the Tigers have Montana Grahem sixth at 130 pounds while Kylie Merideth is fourth at 191.
