Holton Track Teams Capture Wins at ACCHS Invitational

ACCHS Invitational – Results

Area track teams were action Tuesday afternoon at the ACCHS Invitational, and it was Holton who swept the girls and boys team titles.

The Lady Cats won the meet behind five first place finishes as Darcee Ashcraft won the discus, Saydee Tanking the javelin, Amariah Allen the triple jump, Macey Gross the 300-meter hurdles and the 4 by 100-meter relay team taking first.

Doniphan West finished second as a team with three wins as Claire Cole captured the high jump, Elle Williams the 800-meter run and the 4 by 400-meter relay team racking up a win.

Horton got a dominant night from senior Maliyah Soto who picked up four wins in the 100, 200 and 400-meter dashes along with the long jump crown.

Hiawatha added two more wins with Kate Madsen capturing the 3200-meter run and Claire Geiger the 100-meter hurdles.

On the boy’s side Holton won the meet with seven first place finishes led by Kale Purcell who won the 110 and 300-meter hurdles along with the long jump while Canon Karn who captured the triple jump and javelin. The Cats also received two relay event wins capturing the 4 by 100 and 4 by 400-meter relays.

ACCHS came in second place with three event winners led by Keegan Lott who won the shot put and discus while Haeden Forbes won the 800-meter run.

McLouth and Maur Hill-Mount Academy each added a single event winner as the Bulldogs Jared Plake won the 1600-meter run and the Ravens Joseph Hernandez the 400-meter dash.

Doniphan West also got a pair of wins from Trent Spiker in the 100 and 200-meter dashes while Valley Falls’ Nathan Hawk won the high jump.

Hiawatha rounded out the meet with a pair of wins as Justin Hodge won the 3200-meter run while the 4 by 800-meter relay team also captured first.
