Area 8-man athletes were in action Saturday in the 8-man DII All-Star Football Game in Beloit which was won by the West squad 36-28.

Axtell’s Mitchell Buessing got the East off to a fast start hauling in a 48-yard touchdown pass from Hanover’s Jacob Jueneman which was his only reception of the game.

Jueneman ended the game throwing for 268 yards and three touchdowns while fellow Wildcat Colin Jueneman ran for 25 yards and caught nine passes for 187 yards and two scores.

Frankfort’s Aiden Gerstner caught four passes for 10 yards, while Gavin Cornelison caught one pass for five yards.
