Local Boys Earn All-State Honors from Sports in Kansas

The basketball season is done and Sports in Kansas have released their Boys All-State teams by Classification. 

We'll start in Class 4A where Holton junior Matthew Lierz was tabbed 2nd Team All-State. There was also an Honorable Mention selection in 4A with Jesse Greenly from Atchison. 

Royal Valley senior Nahcs Wahwassuck earns 1st Team All-State honors for Class 3A as the Panthers fell short to Hesston in the Title Game this season. Panther senior Brady Klotz earns 2nd Team All-State along with Nemaha Central seniors Kurtis and Marcus Beck. 

3A Honorable Mention All-State: K.J Miller (Royal Valley), Davis Rokey (Sabetha), Mason Thomas (Royal Valley), Gunnar Ball (Perry Lecompton), Matthew Garber (Sabetha), and Jack Lauer (Marysville).

Valley Falls posts two on 1st Team All-State in Class 2A with senior Avery Gatzemeyer and junior Dylan Cervantez. The Dragons posted a fourth place finish at the State Tournament this season in Manhattan. 

Class 2A 2nd Team All-State selections include ACCHS senior Kieran Courter and Jefferson County North senior Ryan Feldkamp. 

Honorable Mention selections in 2A include Trenton L'Ecuyer of Valley Heights, Devin Stutz and Braeden Howard of Pleasant Ridge, Grant Amon and Jason Bosley of Jackson Heights, Trey Lockwood of Horton, and also Zac Evans and Brennen Miller of Valley Falls. 

Troy junior Jerrit Norris was selected 1st Team All-State for Class 1A-I after the Trojans posted a 15 win season and made State for the first time since 1998. His teammate, Cam Anderson earned 2nd Team All-State honors. 

Honorable Mention Selections for 1A-I include Samuel Gros of Frankfort, Centralia's Presly Bowers and Trenton Talley, Clifton Clyde's Tee Koch and Trent Long, and Jason Abitz from Onaga. 

Hanover posted three on 1st Team with Keegan Dimler, Philip Doebele, and Emmitt Jueneman. The Wildcats lost in the 1A-II State Title game on a last second three against Greeley County. 

Axtell's Isaac Detweiler and Wetmore's Braden Henry each earned 2nd Team All-State honors. 

Honorable Mention selections include Josh Zarybnicky of Hanover, and Brandon Schmelzle of Axtell.
