Holton Wrestling 2nd at Home Sadowski Tournament

16 teams competed in the annual  Sadowski Wrestling Tournament Saturday in Holton and the Wildcats placed 2nd as a team, finishing 12 points behind Shawnee Heights.  Holton had 9 grapplers place in the top three, which was more than any other team, but had only two champions, which was half as many as Shawnee Heights.  

Lucas Lovvorn at 138 points and Lane Lassiter at 145 pounds both won exciting matches to win individual championships.  Lovvorn won by 4-2 decision while Lassiter prevailed with a 4-3 decision in the title bout.  

Holton had five wrestlers place second: Justin Rieschick (132 pounds) who lost a 5-4 decision in the final match; Jonah Lutz (126 pounds) who fell 6-2 in the finals; Hunter Price (120 pounds) who was defeated 7-2 in his only loss; Justin Pool (113 pounds) who lost 9-4 in the winners match; and Andrew Rieschick (160 pounds) who fell 11-1 in his only setback.  

The Wildcats also had Kyle Mick (170 pounds) and Cooper Zeller (285 pounds) finish with 3rd place medals and Mason Baum was 4th (152 pounds).  

Pleasant Ridge was 9th as a team led by Jared Johnson who was champion and unbeaten at 170 pounds.  Clayton Gum (106 pounds) and Aaron Brown (195 pounds) both finished 4th and Tony Weber finished 5th at 113 pounds.  

Onaga was 10th as a team led by Mychal Kolterman who placed 2nd at 285 pounds and Andrew Beck was placed 4th at 132 pounds.  Phillip Hamilton (126 pounds) was fifth for Onaga.  

Garrett Dunlap (145 pounds) was 4th for Doniphan West's only placer and Oskaloosa had a pair of medalists as Wyatt Farris was 5th at 195 pounds and Hunter Knopp was 6th at 285.
